If you have never stayed at a B&B, you may find yourself wondering how these inns differ from larger hotels and motels. What follows should answer any questions you may have. If you remain uncertain about something, feel free to contact us - we are happy to answer your questions and put your mind at ease.

First of all, if you know the dates and location of your travel, it is never a bad idea to make a reservation ahead of time. Should you need to cancel it, please do so as soon as possible. Each inn has its own cancellation policy, which should be made clear to you when your reservation is made. It is also possible to spontaneously knock on the door of an inn and find a room, especially during the off-season. If you are traveling with children, please inquire about the inn's policy on children - many require that children be above a certain age.
Every Bed and Breakfast is unique - many are in personal homes - and innkeepers establish their own policies to ensure that their guests are comfortable and safe. Your comfort and privacy is paramount, but so is the comfort and privacy of all the other guests. Each inn will provide guidelines on use of common areas, pets, hours of breakfast, and so forth. Should you be moving about the inn in the early morning or late at night, please respect the fact that others may be sleeping nearby. Other than that, relax and enjoy yourself.

In the event that you have allergies, special dietary needs, or medications that require refrigeration, please speak to the innkeeper at your earliest convenience - while making your reservation. Most innkeepers will do their best to meet such needs, and advance notice is always helpful. If you need to eat breakfast before or after the normal hours of service, again, please speak to the innkeepers ahead of time. One of the great advantages to traveling at a B&B is that the innkeepers are truly interested in providing the best possible experience for their guests. Please respect their decision if they are unable to accommodate something.

Many inns offer specials and packages, which are usually listed on their websites. These can range between chocolates and a bottle of wine in the room to spa services, and most require advance notice. Please see the specials/packages page on this website if you think you may be interested in something like this.

We feel certain that you will find travel at Kentucky Bed and Breakfasts relaxing and delightful.
