Big South Fork

If you'd rather dive into the water instead of hiking through the hills, then you might prefer a trip to Big South Fork, a vast national river with all the fishing, swimming, and boating opportunities you could ever want. Hiking is also big here, with the Twin Arches and Angel Falls Overlook being two of the fan favorites.

For the brave types, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, and rock climbing are other fun things to do while you're in the area. Click the links on the activities you most want to do and you'll find the directions for each of them.

Green River Lake State Park

Because this isn't as big of a national attraction, sometimes our guests don't realize just how cool Green River Lake State Park really is, but it has everything that you could want out of a vacation. There's overnight fishing, 28 miles of hiking trails, horseback riding opportunities, and a scenic drive for wildlife enthusiasts.

There's a lot of beach shore, so if you just want to relax on the water while having a picnic, you are free to do so. Birdwatching is popular because of the many waterfowl and forest-y areas nearby, so make sure you bring your pair of binoculars!

Whether you want to learn the caverns history, want to exert yourself physically through the cave's most physically demanding sections, or you just want to see some cool rock formations, Mammoth Cave offers something for every type of vacationer.
