The warm weather and miles of farmland make Kentucky the premier wine country here in America. Amateur wine connoisseurs like yourself probably want to taste every fruit of the vine that you can, and by taking the road through the Kentucky Wine Trail you can!

The three main hubs for wineries in Kentucky are Louisville, Lexington, and the Covington area, so we'd like to take some time to focus on each of these.

Brooks Hill Winery

Visit this quaint yet cute farm house in the outskirts of Louisville. The estate offers lovely outdoor and indoor seating for your tasting experience. The wines you should be on the prowl for are the Dori Roe Red, a perfect bottle for fanciful meals, and the Riesling, a cold semi-dry wine which offers a sour yet sweet tasting.

Millanova Winery

Address: 744 Gentry Ln, Mt Washington, KY

Hidden in a grove of trees near a small neighborhood, this unassuming vineyard offers up big flavors! With several prize-winning wines on the menu, you won't want to leave without grabbing a few bottles for home. The Mint Julia, Pinot Grigio, and Maddie Bear Blackberry are their finest wines, but you can't go wrong with any flavor, really.

Forest Edge Winery

Address: 1910 Clermont Rd, Shepherdsville, KY

Located just beyond the reach of the Bernheim Research Forest, it shouldn't come as a surprise why this place is called Forest Edge. Wine tastings are all walk-in for $5 a person, and can help you decide which bottles you want to buy. Forest Edge sells assorted cheese to pair with its glasses, but you're allowed to bring your own food if you'd like to picnic on the grounds. It's the most customizable wine trip out there.

This should be your number one choice, as tastings are accessible and affordable, the property is adorable, and there's always something to see and do. Live music plays frequently during your tasting, adding more romantic ambience to your drink time.

Equus Run Vineyards

Address: 1280 Moores Mill Rd, Midway, KY

Enjoy the rustic farm life with a vineyard close to several horse farms and the Saddlestone Distillery. The tastings are elegant, and include a tour of the winemaking facilities. Equus Run emphasizes the importance of organic farming, and will explain why as you visit. They'll even give you tasting tips and tell you what food pairs well with each of their wines.

Wildside Winery

Address: 5500 Troy Pike, Versailles, KY

Pop by for a visit on the wild side of Lexington. This winery is fairly isolated from the city, but offers the perfect winemaking habitat for the fruit used in the beverages. Seven Wells Vineyard

Though Seven Wells is located just a short drive from Covington, the peace and quiet you'll find here makes it feel like a totally different place. Enjoy drinks, music, and the atmosphere when you arrive. Though the winery cannot be toured, you can still tour the drinks themselves.
