Kentucky Bourbon Trails - Louisville's Urban Bourbon Trail

Last post we looked into the official Kentucky Bourbon Trail - now let's dig a little deeper with an exploration of Louisville's Urban Bourbon Trail. Rather than a tour of distilleries, the Urban Bourbon Trail is a tour of Louisville's bourbon bars, which may as well be called the world's best bourbon bars because, well, you're in Louisville, Kentucky! Louisville and bourbon have gone together since 1780 when Evan Williams first brought his product to town.
The Urban Bourbon Trail Each bourbon bar on the Urban Bourbon Trail offers at least 50 different types of bourbon for you to taste - some offer upwards of 200 different brands! - plus what bars and restaurants do so well: live music, good eats, and cocktails from some of Kentucky's most accomplished chefs, bartenders, and mixologists. Like the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, the Urban Bourbon Trail offers a free passport that you can pick up at the Louisville Visitors Center (4th and Jefferson Streets in downtown Louisville) or an app that you can download to your Apple or Android phone. After you've gotten your Urban Bourbon Trail Passport, all you need do is pick six (hey, we're in Louisville - think horse racing!) destinations from the list (there's no penalty if you decide to visit more than six), visit them for a sample or more, and collect a stamp. Once you have your six stamps, return to the Louisville Visitors Center with your passport to receive an Urban Bourbon Trailblazer t-shirt and your official Citizen of Bourbon Country certificate. Be sure to visit The Urban Bourbon Trail website for app downloads, maps, and more info.
