Beer, Wine, and Bourbon in Bluegrass Kentucky

April 18, 2018 by B&B Association of Kentucky

Beer, Wine, and Bourbon in Bluegrass KentuckyKentucky is widely known as the birthplace of bourbon, where the ever-popular Mint Julep and old-fashioned reign supreme. But, did you also know that Kentucky is a great place to grab a delicious pint of beer, and even a glass of wine?  It’s true. Despite being at the forefront of the bourbon scene, other drinks have crept into the spotlight in Kentucky. Craft brews were once relegated to cities like Portland or beer-loving states like Wisconsin. Both the craft beer industry and Kentucky’s wine industry are located in Bluegrass country, and have seen steady growth over the past several years. If you love to try hand-crafted, regional beer, wine, and spirits, then now’s the perfect time to visit Kentucky. Find a Kentucky Inn to stay at this summer, and get ready to drink those hot summer days away with us.

The Birthplace of Bluegrass Music

May 18, 2017 by B&B Association of Kentucky

Kentucky Bluegrass MusicIf there are two things most people associate with Kentucky, it’s horse racing (and Thoroughbred horses in general), and Bluegrass music.  It’s true that Kentucky is the original birthplace of Bluegrass music, and many modern day country music stars still have their beginnings in Kentucky.  In fact, U.S. Highway 23 is known as the “Country Music Highway,” because it’s where you’ll find the birthplaces of stars like The Judds, Loretta Lynn, Dwight Yoakam, Ricky Skaggs and Billy Ray Cyrus, to name a few.  The sweet sounds of banjo, fiddle, guitar and mandolin define Kentucky Bluegrass Music, and there are a variety of places to listen to it, and festivals celebrating it, across Kentucky.  If you’re looking to dive a little deeper in the historic heart of Bluegrass Kentucky, book a stay at any number of our Kentucky Bed and Breakfasts this summer, and take yourself on a music journey you’ll won’t forget.
