The Hill House Bed & Breakfast
Summer Time in Kentucky!
Well, the lazy days of summer are definitely here! The smell of sour mash from the distilleries is in the air. If you have never visited our beautiful state, this is the time to do it! Lounge around with friends on the large back patio or sit and sip a bourbon in our front porch rockers and watch the orange sun setting in the West.
If lounging is not your speed, remember, there are a lot of great places to see this time of year from touring the Bourbon Trail to seeing Civil War sites or visiting My Old Kentucky Home! Even if just for a day or two, join us where you can experience our bourbon and that southern cooking and sometimes our bourbon in our cooking! We are just 3 miles from Maker's Mark Distillery and less than 30 minutes from Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and many others. Check out our "Special Interests" page to see what the area has to offer. Call for Reservations: 877-280-2300 or book on-line!
About Our Business
Our beautiful home was originally built in the mid 1800's. After many years of neglect, we purchased the property in 2000 and immediately began a plan to restore the old warmth and charm that we could see had existed so many years ago.
We completely gutted the building, save for the original floors and beautiful staircase. We upgraded all of the utilities, and added the modern comforts that help to make your stay most enjoyable, like central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, whirlpool tubs, a cable TV in each guest room, and a first-class kitchen.
On the first floor, you'll find The Thoroughbred Room with a private bath featuring a whirlpool tub and dual shower-heads. The parlor has a piano, T.V., stereo and sitting area with fireplace, where you can relax as you please. The formal dining room is perfect for a quaint meal, and the large, bright "Event Room" is ideal for larger group gatherings. The modern kitchen is a natural gathering place (what kitchen isn't!?) and here you'll find a small table for an informal snack or a quick bite to eat.
The second floor has 3 guest rooms, each with it's own full
size bath. There is also a small balcony where you can relax in the comforts of home.
From the kitchen, step out onto the secluded patio surrounded by seasonal flowers. Smoking is permitted on the patio, as well as on the front porch where you'll find rocking chairs for your enjoyment to finish-off the day.
If you are coming with a group and would like to arrange a lunch or dinner while you are visiting the area, we are here to please! Valinda's Catering has many options from which to choose.
Whether you're just passing through or planning an event, you'll find our staff ready to help make your experience a memorable one.
Just give us a call and we will cater to your needs! We hope to see you soon!
Cheers,
Lisa Marie
