The Hill House Bed & Breakfast

If you have never visited our beautiful state, now is the time. The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is in full swing as new attrations are added constantly. Located in the center of the trail, The Hill House is the perfect anchor for your daily trips. Lounge around with friends on the large back patio or sit and sip a bourbon in our front porch rockers and watch the orange sun setting in the West.

If The Bourbon Trail is not of interest, remember, there are a lot of great places to see this time of year from touring the Civil War sites, taking a ride on the KY Dinner Train or visiting My Old Kentucky Home! Even if just for a day or two, join us where you can experience our bourbon and that southern cooking and sometimes our bourbon in our cooking!  We are just 3 miles from Maker's Mark Distillery and less than 30 minutes from Heaven Hill, Jim Beam, Wild Turkey, Four Roses and many others. Check out our "Special Interests" page to see what the area has to offer. Call for Reservations:  877-280-2300 or book on-line!

About Our Business
Our beautiful home was originally built in the mid 1800's. After many years of neglect, we purchased the property in 2000 and immediately began a plan to restore the old warmth and charm that we could see had existed so many years ago.

We completely gutted the building, save for the original floors and beautiful staircase.  We upgraded all of the utilities, and added the modern comforts that help to make your stay most enjoyable, like central heating and air conditioning, ceiling fans, whirlpool tubs, a cable TV in each guest room, and a first-class kitchen.

On the first floor, you'll find The Thoroughbred Room with a private bath featuring a whirlpool tub and dual shower-heads. The parlor has a piano, T.V., stereo and sitting area with fireplace, where you can relax as you please. The formal dining room is perfect for a quaint meal, and the large, bright "Event Room" is ideal for larger group gatherings. The modern kitchen is a natural gathering place (what kitchen isn't!?) and here you'll find a small table for an informal snack or a quick bite to eat.

The second floor has 3 guest rooms, each with it's own full
size bath.  There is also a small balcony where you can relax in the comforts of home.

From the kitchen, step out onto the secluded patio surrounded by seasonal flowers. Smoking is permitted on the patio, as well as on the front porch where you'll find rocking chairs for your enjoyment to finish-off the day.

If you are coming with a group and would like to arrange a lunch or dinner while you are visiting the area, we are here to please!  Valinda's Catering has many options from which to choose.

Whether you're just passing through or planning an event, you'll find our staff ready to help make your experience a memorable one.

Just give us a call and we will cater to your needs! We hope to see you soon!

Cheers,
Lisa Marie

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. It was me and my husband and 2 other couples. We had the whole house. Pam is no longer there but Deena stepped right in and took excellent care of us! The food was wonderful and she makes you feel special! You couldn't ask for a better place to stay! It is wonderful! We will be going back!

We stayed in this in while completing the Bourbon Trail, and it was perfect being so close to the Maker's Mark distillery. It was a lovely inn. The room was so clean and the innkeeper and staff were very friendly and welcoming. At the end of the day, we kept saying we wanted to go "home" back to the inn. They gave us great advice on nearby restaurants, and we returned with wine and cheese waiting for us after dinner. The breakfast they served was also delectable. Overall, it was a fabulous experience, and we will definitely be staying there again!

The Hill House has to be one of the finest B&B in the country. The House is spotless, the beds are so comfy. Pam is the best host you could ask for. Even joined us on our trips out! The breakfast cannot get any better, huge portions. You will not be disappointed with your stay. And Makers Mark is 3 miles down the road!
