1898 Red Bud Bed & Breakfast
The 1898 Red Bud Bed and Breakfast is named for the numerous native red bud trees that grow in the yard.
The home is set on over an acre of beautifully landscaped grounds that your are free to wander. Built in the late eighteen hundreds by Minnie Crockett, wife of H. S. Crockett the original physician in Wilmore, as her country home. It was described as being one mile from downtown Wilmore on Pleasant Hill Turnpike. At that time this was the only route to Shakertown via the Shaker Ferry on the Kentucky River at the end of Ky 29. Over the years the home changed hands many times and eventually fell into ruin. In the 1972 Donald and Robbie Joy purchased the home and lovingly brought it back to life. We purchased the home in 2007 and have been working hard to restore historic details to their original state. "With a fresh coat of paint and a few updates, to make your say more comfortable, we are now ready to welcome you to your small town home away from home."
