Thomas Irvine McElroy built this beautiful Greek Revival Plantation Home on 949 acres and presented it as a Wedding Gift to his young bride, Sarah Jane Maxwell.

Lavished with numerous architectural features, it is accented with Italianate detail, spans over 7,000 sq. ft., with 14' ceilings, 12' doorways, 9' windows, 13 original rooms - most are 20' x 20' with some even larger, and a grand cherry floating spiral staircase

1851 Historic Maple Hill Manor's colorful past includes stories of an Antebellum Plantation, use as a Civil War Confederate Encampment & Union Hospital, the Childhood Home to Phil Simms - former NY Giants Quarterback and Super Bowl XXI's MVP, a popular Dinner Hall, and Children's Home. Today it is a nationally-recognized Bed & Breakfast, Wedding/Special Events Showplace, Alpaca & Llama Farm, and Handcrafted Gift Gallery & Alpaca Fiber Studio.

This working farm is stately set on 15 tranquil acres, located on Central Kentucky's Bourbon Trail. The home is considered one of the best preserved Antebellum Homes in the Commonwealth.

For your comfort, each of the seven guest rooms are air conditioned and have private baths in the rooms. Guest rooms are spacious, antique-appointed, and elegantly decorated. Ideally suited for romantic escapes, Girlfriend getaways, special occasion celebrations, Murder Mysteries, Spa Treatments, or much needed rest and relaxation.

Awaken to the delightful strains of chamber music and the wafting aromas of freshly brewed coffee and hot-from-the-oven muffins, as the day begins with a specially prepared breakfast served on fine china in the dining room. An award-winning Full Country 'Gourmet' Breakfast is normally served between 8-10:00 a.m.

My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary at Maple Hill Manor. From the moment we stepped foot in the foyer, we we're showered with warmth and hospitality thanks to innkeeper Adam Plaskey. Adam welcomed us with open arms. Adam has never met a stranger. He is quick to make his home your home. After a simple tour and a historic lesson, Adam allowed us to check into our room early. While my wife and I unpacked, Adam sat at the piano in the sitting room and filled the manor with some eloquent music. The manor, which was the birthplace of NFL star Phil Simms, offered a charm that resulted in a relaxing atmosphere. Maple Hill is a working alpaca and llama farm. The animals are quite fascinating, and help take the city-life mindset out of your stay. The outside of the manor and its grounds are somewhat rough around the edges, but once you accept it's a 164-year-old establishment, the thought quickly vanishes. After exploring the property, which includes a hammock, a large patio area, a tree swing, and several scattered couples sitting areas, my wife and I sat underneath a shade trade for a few hours. We simply relaxed and talked while enjoying some readily available pastries and beverages found within the dining area. We stayed in the Stephen Collins Foster room, which was elegant. The room was spacious enough for our needs and offered the basic amenities that any hotel would provide, including some very cozy robes. The room was decorated with many historic pictures and knickknacks that added to the overall decor. On the plus side, the silken bed sheets offered a splendid night of sleep. The only negative my wife and I experienced within our room was with the Jacuzzi. The tub’s stopper made a constant water release sound that was somewhat annoying. With the help of Adam and the manor's owner Todd Allen, I surprised my wife with a vow renewal ceremony during our stay. Despite having guests in every room, Adam made us feel like we were the only couple at the manor. He orchestrated the ceremony from start to finish, which included a local officiate that conducted the renewal, and a cake and a bottle of champagne to celebrate with afterwards. Adam had setup the cake and champagne in the dining room, but he masterfully rearranged the setup in order for us to enjoy our post-ceremony toast privately in our room. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. Adam is a wiz in the kitchen. At 8 AM the next morning, Adam promptly served each guest a plate of sugar-covered bacon, along with a unique and mouthwatering take on an egg in a basket. We were also served a side of potatoes with fresh herbs and slices of watermelon. Afterwards, Adam presented us with a breakfast dessert of slightly crisped pancakes with fresh raspberries that were heightened in taste with a drizzle of lemon tart syrup. Of course, percolated coffee and juice were offered. Adam even took the liberty of serving a gentleman with diabetes a modified version of the breakfast. Overall, our experience at Maple Hill was fantastic. Anyone looking for a relaxing getaway should look no further. Whether you’re looking for a venue to host a wedding, or for a lovely place to stay while taking Kentucky’s famous Bourbon Trail tour, Maple Hill will exceed your expectations. Maple Hill is a bed and breakfast gem. But, what makes the manor is Adam. His attention to detail and prompt gestures will make your stay rememberable.

My husband and I stayed for our Anniversary weekend. It was more beautiful in person than the pictures and the food was outstanding. We stayed in the Stephen Foster Room, which has a jacuzzi tub. The room was large and very romantic. The sheets were wonderful and the bed was very comfortable. We really had no complaints that would keep us from returning. The 2 items that did not exceed our expectations were that the grounds clearly needed some attention and the private bath attached to the room was extremely small.

We didn't really know what to expect, having never stayed at a bed and breakfast before. We'd gone onto the website beforehand to look at the photos and choose the room (the Lincoln LIbrary), but still weren't sure what it would be like. In a matter of moments upon our arrival, we were overly impressed. The view of the house from the drive, the sweet alpacas, the views, and then the house itself - all created an experience that was both intimate and extraordinary, calming and invigorating. We will definitely return. It was beautiful.

Todd and Tyler are class all the way. The house, our room, the food, their hospitality…everything was first class. My wife and I stayed at MHM for our 14th wedding anniversary, and could not have picked a better spot. We will be back!

Just Awesome! so much fun for my frist Band B! One of the best overnight stays you will have. I stayed at Maple Hill Manor B & B while I toured the Kentucky Bourbon Trail with my girlfriend Katie. Todd and Tyley where just great, even catered to Katie's gluten allergy. It sits on a great piece of land, enjoyed both their company outside as they shared stories of this great property. You are missing out if you don’t stay here. A real treat!!
